I have no shame in my leggings game. Unless I’m going out with friends for a day or night out that warrants dressing up, you can find me in the comfy, stretchy pants. And even then, if I plan to wear a flow-y top, there’s a very good chance I pair it with black leggings. If I’m feeling spicy, I’ll reach for a pair of fan-favorite Spanx Faux Leather Leggings. (And if I’m craving extra color, I lean toward Beyond Yoga’s SpaceDye Leggings.) In all other cases—which, BTW, is most of the time, I rely on my tried and true: the OFFLINE By Aerie Real Me High Waisted Legging ($45, on sale for $27).

There are so many things to love about these leggings. For starters, they’re made with the brand’s signature Real Me fabric (composed of 88 percent nylon and 12 percent elastane) which is made to feel like ~you~. What that really means is that the fabric is meant to move with you—up, down, side-to-side, in quick motion, and at slow paces—without ever feeling uncomfortable throughout wear. Truly, it’s so lightweight that it just glides with you, wherever you may go.

Of course, I’d be lying if I said that these leggings never slip. I wear them on leisurely mile-long walks with my dog, Cash, during supermarket and farmers market grocery runs, and during 60-minute Orangetheory classes; over the years, I’ve worn them on megaformers, during half-marathon prep, to the movies, and out to bars. Throughout all of that, I find that they only slip after hours of wear, once they’ve stretched out a slight bit—and even then it’s minimal, not incessant—or if I’m in the wrong size to begin with. (You want them to be snug but comfortable when you try them on.)

Beyond the fact that these leggings tend to stay perfectly put throughout wear, my other favorite part about them is that, since they’re so lightweight and unrestricting, they almost never lead to camel toe. While some people might scoff at that and think that the only reason someone would have a CT is because their pants are too tight, I assure you, that’s not the case. Take my bold Beyond Yoga leggings, for example. No matter the size I get, they have a proclivity to clink there. It is what it is. These Aerie basics, however, never, ever do that, thanks to the 360-degree stretch and V-seam at the waist, which puts less tension on the mid seam at the crotch. As such, they don’t cause a split (which I’m ever so thankful for).

Because of how much I love the fabric and fit, I was so thrilled when the silhouette evolved into more styles in more recent years. What started as the OFFLINE By Aerie Real Me High Waisted Legging has since evolved into theOFFLINE By Aerie Real Me Xtra Crossover High Waisted Pocket Legging ($55, on sale for $33), which features the same Real Me Fabric and flattering V-seam, only with pockets a trendy crossover waist. And let me just say: I’m so into this line. No, really, I have at least 10 pairs of the Real Me Leggings. I have a few pairs of the originals, which I love for OTF classes, and I have a handful of the pocket iteration, which I reserve for walking my pup, because they make carrying my phone and treats a breeze.

Thankfully—since sweat and smelly dog treats can get stinky—the Real Me fabric fares well in the wash. I wash my leggings on a cool cycle and tumble dry them and I’ve never had the quality dwindle as a result. Suffice to say, if you’re in the market for new high-quality, extremely-comfortable leggings, you can’t go wrong with Aerie.

But wait, there's more!
